As my first Blog ever, I’m just going to do it the way I do a lot of things…….jump in head first and hope it doesn’t hurt when I hit the rocks below.

Not that that’s happened in awhile-either hitting the rocks or jumping in for that matter-but that’s a topic for an entire blog itself and highly “UN”related to cycling or the subject at hand.

I am a professional race car driver and a passionate cyclist and because of that I’ve been fortunate to see up close the many similarities between the sports and also the many differences.  Teamwork is a part of both-a big part, but so is individual effort.  The bike and car play very different roles, as do team mates.

I want to follow a path that delves into the “inside” of racing from my perspective–as a professional driver.  From the team and sponsors to the Director Sportifs to the actual mechanics of the race……there are a thousand pieces that must work together for success.  The effort that goes into a winning race car and winning race team is tremendous, the same is true of professional cycling teams. I hope to bring a little light to the backstory of professional cycling, with maybe a bit different point of view.

Along the way I plan to have some exciting “celebrity” guest bloggers and interviews, some who have long time experience in the sport, some who are still actively working behind the scenes, and some who like me “follow cycling from a driver’s seat.”

So hop in and enjoy the view from the Road ……as I blog about Cycling from the Driver’s Seat.
